My first attempt at prompt #103 from creativewritingprompts.com - create a poem using Emily Dickinson's "Bring me the sunset in a cup" as a starting point:
Bring me the Sunset in a Cup
because I won't have it
any other Way. This
Day cannot, will not end
until I can capture it,
toast it up, drink it down,
feel the Itch as it slides
down my Throat,
the Warmth as it settles
in my Stomach.
How great to know
that All is said and done
and the Day in its rightful Place,
finished and digested.
